Like most others I'm gradually migrating to 2.4.
You sort of come to a cross roads regarding brand loyalty when you have to replace transmitter AND receivers.
After many happy years using JR I went Futaba because the channel hopping idea seemed superior, after all,

JR used channel hopping technology in Japan (DSM-J) for years but pushed the Spektrum system everywhere else.
It will be interesting to see how they market a frequency hopping system after years of?trying to convince us that

frequency hopping is NOT the way to go now they are selling the DMSS system! ?- John.?

Actually "Spektrum" is a Horizon Hobby product, not a JR product. So while JR was operating with Spektrum that is bc that is what Horizon wanted, not JR

Currently i am running a JR 11X on DSM2 with a mix of JR and spektrum brand receivers. Servos are either JR, spektrum and a handfull of hitecs. Flight batteries are all A123

In the next 12-18 months i am going to have the need to upgrade. I am currently either debating on the JR 28X (depending on its price) or the jeti DS16

Moved from Multiplex 4000 to the Futaba 14MZ a few years back and loved the Futaba but missed the tray style of radio.

Recently sold the 14 MZ and moved to the JETI Duplex 16.

WOW! All I can say is that the Czechs sure have left the Japanese manufacturers in their dust. With 40 years in RC, I can say with confidence that it is the easiest programming radio I have ever used. Plus, a build quality that has no equal IMHO, telemetry automatically included and the price is competitive. Check JETI out, you won't be disappointed.

Phil

Thomas,
The new JR radios are not backwards compatible with your "old" JR/Spectrum receivers. I told the guy last year at the JR Americas booth at Toledo that unless he was willing to replace my RX one for one with the new JR RX they had lost a customer. I have used JR since the early 80's with the Apollo TX both heli and plank versions.
Horizon has in the past provided outstanding product support and from my experiences this spring, despite a change in ownership at Horizon continues the legacy that they have been know for decades.
