Hi. I'm Max.
For my 70th birthday, my wife bought me a 1/4 scale "The World Models" Piper Pawnee 25, with a DLE 60 twin.
I haven't flown RC since I was in my twenties, and I've been a rail modeler for the past ten years or so. I've done the NMRA MMR, so you can see that I'm obsessive about scale modeling.
So, the journey began. I bought an Apprentice S and I'm teaching myself to fly again, using the excellent SAFE technology. I also have a Seagull Boomerang II on the bench, ready for my next step - into gas.
On the way to my favorite civilian aircraft, the Pawnee, I want to pay homage to my late father in law, who flew Spitfires during the last war, by buying a Flightline Spitfire Mk IX 63" foamie; and installing either a Benedini or the Model Sounds Inc sound system. Hopefully that will happen later this year.
The Flightline Spitfire looks like it will have opportunities for adding scale details.
Meanwhile, the Pawnee sits in its trailer, slowly evolving.
I'm looking forward to reading the exploits of everyone here.
Cheers Max

Hi Max! Welcome to RCSB. What a nice wife you have!
I would highly recommend finding and joining a club, lots to be gained from that.

Thanks, Patrick.
Thanks for the welcome, Jeff.
I joined Strathalbyn Club here in South Oz in October, last year.
You are right. They have been very helpful and encouraging.
Cheers

Welcome Max,
RCSB is THE BEST scale website on the planet. Friendly bunch of guys here.
You may want to familiarize your self with the forum rules and regs regarding resizing, orientating and posting photos. It will make things less frustrating when you start posting your build threads for us all to enjoy.
You will find everything you need to know at the top of the page under the FAQ tab.

Thanks, Kuhn.
Good advice. I've already had a nose around.
It's pretty easy to understand. I have my own forum, so I'm used to people asking dumb questions!
Now it's my turn. Ha Ha.
Cheers
