Thanks. I have collected la lot of photos on the Internet. Also got several close ups of a restored 1943 24W in Sweden.
I have the F-24R plans done by the late Steve Sauger. In my opinion these are the most accurate plans ever made. I had them blown to the same scale as Hostetler's so that I can use his Cowl and Wheel pants from Fibertech n More.

I think if you land gently the gear will be up to the task but if you are going to bang it into the ground I'd double the shocks or stiffen things up.

Time will tell. The landning gear may look weak on the photo due to the wide angle lens.
Steel tubes are 5/16" and 1/4" 4130 aircraft grade
