Las Vegas NV is home. Been building since a kid in the fifties and flying since about 1970.
Learned to fly R/C at a field at El Segundo and PCH (the original up on the hill) just south of LAX airport.

Have never progressed passed a "sport" builder/flyer.

I have gleaned enough info just cruising the site to pay for the $20 price of admission several times over.

Some amazing build threads on this site.

Welcome John, you have joined the best site there is for aircraft modeling bar none. Too many excellent builds to point to and many skills, tricks and how too around every corner! I would love to name a few builders (builder is kind of a plain word, craftsman is more accurate) to read up on but there are so many I would not want to leave one out and hurt their feelings! Cant forget the crew that maintains the site and of course the creator! Just keeps getting better all the time!

Welcome aboard John. Hoping you’ll have a great time. I’m currently living in Reno so I’m your northern neighbor. I used to live in L.A. & had cousins living in El Segundo & lived in the San Fernando Valley. So I’m familiar with your old stomping grounds.

I share a love for all things in aviation & my grown kids feel the same way. Can’t speak for my grandkids yet but I just have to leave it up to them to decide.

Built too many models for my own good. I purposely created a bucket list of models to build in the future such that I have to live to be at least 250 years old.... :0)

Cheers,

Gary

Welcome John.

The first thing to do now is to go here https://www.rcscalebuilder.com/faq.asp

Scroll down to "Posting" Familiarize yourself with the content.

It will save you much heart ache in the future.

What are you going to start a build thread with?

John:

Welcome aboard! You will be glad you joined up as this site is a wealth of information, building tips, finding materials, and lots of eye candy, etc. I'm like Skyediamonds in that I'm all things aviation, made a career of it turning wrenches on aircraft for the airlines. I would be curious what you had in mind to build?

Dan
