That is correct. Steve Eagle is the team manager. There is only one manager.

Tim Dickey here. Thank you so much for the suggestions on my WACO project. It’s been a journey from learning to TIG weld fuse tubes to now installing the cabin interior. My builds normally take 2yrs and I’m 1.5yrs into this one.

To answer a couple questions I saw.

The cabin sheeting someone pointed out is on the inside and was for supporting the interior fabric. I have since removed it and using card stock with the fabric attached to it for weight reduction.

This model has a couple options for fuel tank configuration to enable good balance using excess fuel for ballast. I will require 16oz for routine and some reserve based on the first test flight. The model currently has a 32oz tank in the nose and can support two 12oz tanks in the upper wing over the CG (the WACO factory tank locations) in case the entire 32oz in the nose is required for balance. So the model can be configured to carry 56oz of fuel in total. I plan to assemble over the next few days to see where the CG is after the weight reduction.

Thanks again and as soon as I learn how to post photos on RCSB I will do so!

Just a small heads up for FAI.
The excess fuel needs to be available to the engine, and it must join the engine fuel system.
You can't have water in the tanks!

Fuel in wing tanks is unlikely to help CG.

Good to know this as I did not find anything in the Sporting Code which described the required fuel configuration. Appreciate the input.

I guess electric powered models can’t carry a bunch of unconnected batteries either!

If I use wing tanks the setup would be for engine consumption not to directly help CG.

Correct,  but propulsion  battery's do not count in the all up weight. As pr. liquid fuel
Radio battery's must be connected to make a working radio system,

So if your radio works off the main propulsion battery you would be lumbered with the big battery included in the 15 kg.

I am not 100% certain of that so if it is an issue i can ask.

Thanks. No need to follow-up for me as I'm not electric, just curious.

I would like some feedback on Optional Flight Maneuvres, specifically options S & T Flight Functions.

My model has 3 types of scale automations which can be enabled:

1) Adjustable incidence horizontal stab. LE jack screw, TE hinge, etc
2) Fare tube. Launched out the side of the fuse.
3) Front windows which go down.

Would any of these qualify as options S&T Flight Functions should I decide to enable them?

Hmm, pushing your luck there.......... LE jack screw, they could not see it in flight so that wont do.
Same for winding the windows down!

There used to be a leaflet drop option where the pilot threw leaflets overboard but i think it got zeroed when everybody started doing it.

Anyway I will ask......

No. the opinion of our leading FAI judge is non of those will get you a good mark.
Even retracts and flaps demonstration are now considered too easy.

Stick to what your aircraft would do if it was in an air-show and on the list of options.

Now this is just my opinion, I used to arrive on the static judges table with the Swordfish wings folded then make a song and dance of unfolding them. Not saying it would get you extra marks but ........
