Yeah I was expecting it to but realized that the field and location was not suitable for a safe maiden.

I'm looking for further videos of it flying.

I'll post it if I find it.

This is his YouTube channel showing how he built it.

The video above was only the taxi tests.

Does my heart good to see such genki Japanese senior citizens take on a project like this!   BTW, many Japanese RC fields aren't much better or much bigger than this one.  Most are along the side of a river, as this one is.

You know it’s big when you need a crane for field assembly….geesh!

Looks and sounds like some sort of propane or LNG motor.  I don’t read Japanese so maybe the captions describe it.

Nope. It's a Rotax petrol engine.

The black tanks up front under the cowl are pneumatic tanks for the gear.

Amazing lightweight construction throughout.

I hope he has success in the flying.
t can be daunting to do the engineering to ensure there is strength in the parts that need it.
Does the Japanese have a large model inspection program? Similar to our AMA program.
Progress in the UAV world has the technology to provide redundant electronic  systems to ensure sucess.
Kind of cool that the kids and apparently the build could sit in the CP.
