This being my first post , I have to say I enjoy all aspects of scale building , but what I really enjoy is reading and seeing the beautiful work posted on this web site. In this day and age of computers and automation the art of creating something with your hands or learning building skills is becoming a lost art. Being new to scale and following this site I can see that a lot of you scale builders do not realize your level of talent or that you are a master of recreating past history especially in the war birds and keeping it alive. No ARF will ever replace the feeling of a kit or scratch built project. Because of this web site , my Sons and I have been able to learn different techniques in construction , finishing , and overall comradery of fellow builders within our hobby throughout the world , for this we Thank You. Up to this point our scale building has been limited , learning as we go, but our goal soon is to start a build and use what we are learning from the creative builders on this site. Again Thank You to the builders on this site for working with newbies and passing on your skills

Quote: Ron Berg Well, my favorite part of the hobby isn't one of the choices so I will say the building part. I enjoy more then everything else the fellowship and interacting with my fellow modelers.
Concur. My absolute favorite thing to do when I first attend an event and set up, is to walk the flight line. Pictures on the computer or magazine are one thing, but to be able to rest your eyes on the actual model and talk with the owner, priceless.
Of course the downside is my wish list grows afterwards.

Ater serveral years of building, watching and posting a build on this site I asked a fellow modeler at our club when does this hobby go from woodworking to artwork?I enjoy the winter months for building a scale project from a box of sticks and plans. The Spring and summer months are for mingling with fellow club members and traveling to fun flys to show off what you have created. The bonus comes when you make a perfect landing and bring your creation home in one piece.
