paid $339.00 plus tax. Then came home and purchased the synthisized module on line from Omni for $89.00.So a little over 400.00 plus i got digital servos to boot!WOO WOOI'm a very happy camper !

back then futaba did not offer flight packs, jr did. i wanted to keep all of my planes on the same channel. with futaba you had to buy rx then send rx and tx to get tuned, so you were without a radio sometimes up to 4 to 6 weeks. with jr you didnot have to send them off for tunning. i have never had a problem with jr with the exception of dumb thumbs.

I also had some Kraft, Futaba and AeroSport from Hobby shack.
I like the Airtronic shift from + to - mode letting me use other non PCM RX's.
I can cut back on having so many TX to carry.
I have had real good luck with Hitec HS645's also.
I have had 3- Futaba radio's new fail me.
I only use Futaba in my Sea plane, it's $100.00 arf

I talked to Great Planes about the Futaba 8U super and if there was to be a SS module for it or if the 9C pack would fit. They told me they are working on the one that will fit the 8U's and will be available in early to mid summer this year. I was going to sell that radio but I just can't seem to part with it. Perhaps because it was my first really nice radio system. I use it on the ham band right now so when the field gets full, I just go get a spot and fly and have no worries of other flyer's shooting me down. I do worry about all the military aircraft that fly over head our field. They use a freq. that is rather close to that band and I am worried about splash from their unlimited power availabilities. Nothing has ever happened though and still only a few people fly on 50MHz. I work the impound during the Tucson Shootout and only two pilots use the ham band. It's so easy to get a license now that anyone can get one with taking a short quiz like test about international radio laws that common sense will give you the correct answers. Anyhow, I am like the others on SS, I am waiting for all the woo haa to be over and all the bugs to go away before I might try it out. Ch. 24 has been real good to me over the years, I will stick with it for now.
