I subscribe to this forum because the kind of model I fly are for CL scale, but in 2013 the CL scale rules were changed to allow the use of 2.4 Ghz for throttle and other features such as retracts & flaps. I have been using 2.4 Ghz since 2013 for CL scale. We still use a bellcrank to control the elevator but everything else looks and breathes like a RC scale model. The video below shows how I set up the model for CL scale using RC technology.

Fred,
Thanks for posting the procedure looks pretty straight forward. I would mention that as a best practices I never energize the propeller with my arm reaching over the propeller.
In fact I think one time you did hit your arm. Too many times I have read of people coming to grief when there is a little inattention to the prop.
Also I slow down the servo on the flaps, it operates at a bit more scale speed since I believe they are usually electric on the RV-4.
What kit is that? I think I saw a ARF a few years back is that what you started with for the conversion.

My original reason for moving to 2.4 was that my Top Flight p40 I built with my first gasser had the jitters from interference when I got a little ways away.
Once I moved to 2.4 it completely quit.
