I met one of my closest friends through my local flying club. He started out being my instructor and ended up my mentor. He got me started in kit building and every aspect of the hobby. Although there was a thirty year age difference, he will always remain one of my best friends. Sadly we lost him last year suddenly so in his memory RIP Bill!

In the past 15 years I've been this AWESOME hobby, I'm proud to say I'm in the "too many friends to count" crowd. Plus with sites like RCSB , the list keeps getting longer. I don't get to travel much or fly at any events, but following some of the build threads on this site, it makes me feel like I've been all over the world. I will forever be indebted to Mike and the all the great builders and others who make this site what it is today. Like others before me have said, the wealth of knowledge on this site and the willingness to share that knowledge with anyone makes this site numero uno in my book. I cannot imagine not being a member of this INCREDIBLE website and I have recently considered becoming a lifetime supporter.

With all sincerity, I will say I am truly blessed to have met so many wonderful people here on RCSB. I'm honored to consider each and every one of you as my friend.

Just ran across this. I had to select more than I can count. In addition to make many great friends locally in the couple differnet clubs Ive been in (and we have a small group that s very close and fly together all the time) and good people Ive met at fun flies.... This and other forums have led me to meet some great people from all over the world in a variety of different modelling disciplines (scale, sport, aerobatic, helis, etc)some of which I talk to through the forums, others offline, all Ive learned a lot from.
