Close but No Cigar
 A bit more.

Mid Thirties
All metal
Mid wing monoplane
Two Wright Cyclones
Lots of perspex

It had Two " Firsts"
The first to do this, and the first to have one of these in this type of aircraft.

Will be back tomorrow bed time for me!

Well -- the Martin B-10 used a Pratt & Whitney.  The Curtiss T-32 was a biplane.

Lockheed P-2 Neptune?  Actually, my Dad was a machinist's mate in the USN in the 50's.  He described to me a flight in the nose of this aircraft.  Made quite an impression, apparently!

First to carry both piston and jet engines?

For the B-10, I think that they used different engines for different models.  The YB-10 and B-10B had the Wright Cyclones while other versions had Pratt & Whitneys.  Not sure, though, that it had any of the 'firsts' that Alan is looking for....

It was powered by two Wright Cyclone radial engines.

Missed the monoplane part.
