Sorry, but revealing its roles and nationality would give it away very quickly.

If nobody gets it tomorrow, I will reveal it. But, I have a few more clues (in addition to the below) which should allow someone to get it.

More clues:

Single engine bomber
Mid-wing
Flaperons
Dive brakes
Crew of two
Fewer than 100 built
One surviving example
Fast and maneuverable, especially for its size
Capable of carrying a torpedo externally
