Polikarpov I-16 ?   That's the one.  I'd thought that one would have taken at least a couple days.  But you got it.

1. During the interwar period, again the US was last to play the game.

2. Originally developed by a member of the Axis powers, they were not the first to use militarily.

3. Eventually used by countries of both sides, by mid war the U.S. had pretty much taken the lead in productivity in numbers of various types, but not in size or capability.

4. This version was originally seen as a stealthy answer to the invasion of Japan.

5. Slightly larger than the B-17, it was a high wing monoplane, with tricycle landing gear.
