NJ sort of had it already (though I hadn't seen his guess when I posted mine).  Anyway here's my entry.  I'll start off slow.

* Biplane
* 4 wing struts

I'm not sure what that means.

NJ click on the link I posted and it will make some very interesting reading. I'm kind of surprised that it hasn't been subject of a build project it reads like it was a pretty neat airplane, maybe it's too similar to otherr ussian planes of the era.

We only need one Quiz master ABU you are it!

As a example:
On the first set of clues you need to post a few more. Here is what I posted for the first barrage for the YAK-7 followed after a guess with 4 more. Assuming you aren't using a word search function

1. Thousands built
2. Conventional Configuration
3. Had a crew of one sometimes more
4. Even the last of many versions were considered underpowered.

Then in the morning I posted 4 more clues:

5. There are two types of landing gear this one is conventional
6. Initially only had one gun installed
7. Well liked by its crew
8. Of the many thousands built only a handful maybe less than 50 were flown by 7 other countries.

Most famous probably would be the Pt17.  Waco comes to my mind but they have many variations and the earlier ones had more than 4 struts.

Yup Sparky - good reading.  I knew I'd read about removing the fuel tank . . . .  I have the book "Yakovlev's Piston Engined Fighters", but used it about 12 years ago to build a 56" WS Yak 3.  My memory is good:  It's particularly great at forgetting stuff!
