Rules check -- are prototypes OK?  In other words, designs that were built for (under contract to) the military but never made it into service?

Not sure exactly what "in inventory" means...

There ya go!  good job Sparky...not much info on it really.  I was gonna give it away saying it was used for skydiving and aerial photography.

OK, I'll throw this one out anyway -- someone tell me if it is out of bounds...

- Prototype aircraft, few built, none delivered (gave that away, didn't I :-)
- Designed during WWII, though work continued after the war
- Prop and jet versions designed, built and flown
- Work was halted in 1953
- A surviving example exists
- Name either version (prop or jet)

Ah...  Good guess!  Warm :-)  But nope.  Another hint...  The prop version was also (like the YB-35) a pusher!

Well, I guess it would be allowed. As long as it was intended for military as the primary purpose.
Spruce Goose would be ok as it was a Hughes H-4 Hercules.
Opinion: Millions of planes built, pick something numerous.
