For interest - The plane in the picture I posted was the second and final XP-77 made and following an Immelmann turn, the plane crashed. The pilot bailed out.

Interesting that it was largely built of wood and yet was a complete failure.

FYI

I came across a brief video on this plane which was fairly interesting. The position of the pilot and no room for wing fuel tanks was a couple of interesting facts about this plane.

Note, the narrator of this Youtube video is a bit melodramatic!
