I am excited to announce that NASA (National Association of Scale Aeromodelers) the official AMA SIG for scale modeling, has decided to select an FAI team for the 2024 World Scale Championships! The current plan is to field a team for the F4H class, then F4C if there is enough interest/support. NASA is focusing on the F4H class since the static rules are very similar to AMA's 512 Expert Sport Scale. F4C may be offered later depending on the level of interest for that class. At the 2021 Scale Nationals (NATS) we flew the F4H class to gain an understanding of the logistics and procedures needed to select a team for 2024. The F4 classes will be offered at the 2022 and 2023 Scale Nationals and NASA Scale Classic. Team selection will occur at the 2023 Scale Nationals (NATS) in Muncie for the 2024 World Scale Championships.

John,

Who is the sponsor paying the bills? That has been the issue for three or four WSC cycles. We have multiple builders capable of building under 33# who should be encouraged to begin a project explicity for the WSC.

It would be good to begin a thread explaining the WSC and answering questions...you know the ones people do not know to ask. Why don't you create a WSC  thread focused on the 2024 F4C/H WSC?

I agree. It’s long overdue & many interested modelers have questions needing answers.

However, this isn’t to diminish the fantastic news. We’re all excited to hear this & it’s encouraging to know once again USA can participate on the world’s stage.

Thank you for opening the window of opportunity.

Cheers,

Congratulations to John Boyko and Mike Barbie for pushing the USA into forming a team for 2024.
Fantastic news and we all look forward to it.

However ! Check Republic have not put in a bid to host the event in 2024 , up to yesterday.
Romania always offer so unless something changes it is likely to be there.

Before that we go to Norway in 2022, Likely to be well funded and organised event it will be well worth a
visit for anyone interested.

Hello to all

I shall be visiting the US Nats this year and having been a Chief Judge at Euro and World Champs as well as Jet Masters and a 7 time TG Flight Judge.

I am also a multiple time UK Team Manager, so hey feel free to bombard me with questions.

It is a different perspective, but hey, I'm looking forward to receiving some questions and ensuring the US team have a successful trip.
