The reason I asked was because the U-2S/R are very different from the U-2A/B, approx. 30% larger, yet - both are listed with the same wingspa which in the very list imply different scale. Without seeing a picture, neither me nor anybody else interested in the U-2 can decide if the 2S/R is "scale enough".

There are now 14 pages of this thread. All content evolves as questions and suggestions are expressed. 1st. there were plan preferences subscribers would like to see available. Dialog within thread and back channel effect our timeline and upgrade options.

There are multiple upgrades which prevent instant availability. If you see red text it will typically indicate change or an upgrade to an original Jack Lynn Bale plan. As an example, the U2S/RS (Senior Span) two (2) different U2's) represeent over half a gig of documented change... supported by a wealth of in-house resource to edit each of Jack Lynn Bale's designs.

That is as neboulous answer to my question as it can get. I will have to wait until the fog of battle clears, I guess.

Each U-2 rev includes "internal" and "external" upgrades...wingspan being only one example of difference. We had to make a choice of what represents the greatest difference and provide details in support of them.

U-2A

Sooooooooooooooooooo?? Myself and anyone interested in the U-2 already know that. What (if any) do you plan (or have already done) to differentiate between the two airplanes? Why is it so hard to be more specific in your replies?

With respect to the U-2 (all of them) there was a choice of the original JLB A/B plan and the Senior Span which is an additional three(3) rev versions with exterior upgrades in addition to the additional wingspan.

The initial A/B to R-S physical dim changes are the two versions we are offering. Wingspan differential has not been worked on. We have designed an entirely new wing spar and wing receiver boxes to accommodate the Senior Span. The Senior Span wing is an addendum sheet to the revised fuselage plan.

As for what upgrades are available for JLB plans you must wait until the website order form is published...offering fiberglass, vacuum formed, and resin optional parts.

Here are a few U2 details...stl which generates cavity molds for SatLink, long nose, wing pods, fiberglass fuse, Horner wing tips, vacuum formed surface details, cockpit tub and instrument panels for both the A/B and S.

The Senior Span enhancement of the Jack Lynn Bale design is supplimented with our U-2S/R CAD U-2's. Below is the S/RS canopyframe/cockpit tub, instrument panel, and satellite data link. These and ten to fifteen CNC cut surface access and adheive backed details provide plenty of surface detail.

Do you guys think this and the lengthened wing will be enough differential detail?
