Put me on your notify list for anything U-2. Interested more in just a good set of plans of a later version but will consider any of them.

We are not maintaining a list of to-be-notifieds... Everything will be released within our yet to be published MAC website as each is available. There are three levels of each design/plan available as a result of our audit/edit process.
(1) Jack Lynn Bale original plans. (2) Modernized Jack Lynn Bale plans to accommodate current power systems. (3) Enlarged Jack Lynn Bale plan.
With respect to the U2A/B and an RS/S both are in the audit/edit process at this time. Modernizing plans is not difficult... but time consuming. Here is an example of a number of changes.

We will have the enlarged PA-8 wing lofted and CNC cut within two to three weeks. Next week Sam will be back in Houston for his annual checkup on the 15th and I have a medical procedure on the 17th so next week is washout. .. PWA-8 ( Post War Airplane 8). An aerodynamic test aircraft by the name "Cubcycle". Later named the "Skycycle" was a fabric-covered mid- wing single-engined, single-seat monoplane with tailwheel main landing gear. Fuselage was produced using an auxiliary belly fuel tank from the Vought F4U Corsair. This is a new take on the "Whistling Death" nickname of a Corsair. Anyone crash a 3rd scale Corsair recently with a centerline fuel tank the only thing surviving the crash? ..P-47 Wingtank

We have the Piper PA-8 fiberglass cowl, instrument panel, and templates with which to hotwire our canopy plug if leads for one turn out to be fruitless. 1/4 scale is 60" wingspan. We have a 1/4 scale Continental 40 engine kit as well. This makes for a fast building, simple to fly, scale project for your first AMA scale contest. There is a PA-8 completion project underway at the Piper Aviation Museum in Lock Haven, PA. I have managed to acquire a beautiful multiview drawing as well as detailed photos of the original taken prior to its fire. Will have pics to fill in voids in previously available details. The enlarged version of Jack's PA-8 design will be quarter scale (60" w/s). Carlson Replica PA-8
Original Lycoming Pwr'd "Cubcycle"/"Skycycle"...Note absence of forward rollover bar.
Carlson acquired the right to produce the Skycycle. Note Carlson's windshield w/frame.

Funny thing happened on the way to Lock Haven, PA (Piper Museum). I have collected way more documentation than anticipated...presumed to be in contradiction...then discovered the doc pics were take across development of the PA-8...the two of them.
The enlargement to 1/4 scale with optional fiberglass cowl and motor replica plan enhancements are shown on an addendum sheet when the 60" w/s enlargement is bought. Enhancement to the original Jack Lynn Bale SkyCycle plan are printed in color. We created a three piece wing with the center sectiton part of the fuselage as shown in the illustration below.

An interestitng thing happened on my virtual trek to Lock Haven, PA (Piper Museum). The replica PA-8 created by Robert Erdman was donated to the museum several years ago. It was put in in-house storage until the BOD of the museum could decide if it deserved to be there...as if they had another example since Piper dismantled the two originals. In all likelihood due to probable liability issues.
Many assumptions are present... Jane Mansfield parities, so to speak...wings with little to no visible support. Bob Erdman's wife would not let her husband build the wings for fear he would have tried to fly his recreation of the PA-8. After talking to Bob's son I agree with Mrs. Erdman. Look at this wing and you will understand multiple issues exist.

We are focused on unique designs not often found at scale fly-ins and contests. As an example of our CAD resources below is the canopy for Jack's Fairey Barracuda. The Fairey Barracuda, an aircraft carrier torpedo and dive bomber, was the first fullly metal skinned British warbird. Each Barracuda had a three man crew.

Hmm..."Fairley Buccaneer".....Somehow I think it's a Fairey Barracuda.
