I watched Mac fly his routine with that plane a few times, what a great show! The plane looks to be in pretty good condition and not a total rebuild. Pretty cool man.Aaron

Ive been slowly collecting materials for this thing. 150 sheets of contest grade 1/8”x4”x36” balsa has been obtained (that was painful) as well as a significant amount of other balsa and plywood. I also got 30yds of fiberglass cloth and peel ply. Last but not least, i was given a few leads and was able to track down the original cowl mold, so we picked that up earlier this month. Its looking very likely that i’ll be getting started on the repairs come early summer. I have a good bit of cad work to do at some point as well for scale improvements

Invertmast,
This is an awesome project. Saw Mac fly her many times at many field and his home field. I was at Delaware when she went over our tent and crashed behind us. A sad day.
Best wishes and restoration.

Where are you sourcing the FG from?
ACP where I got my last 12 yrd roll .73oz x 38” only sells in 205 yrds now. $967

Thayercraft used to be my go to, but with his partial retirement, his selection has gotten limited.
Composite envisions is the next best i have found, but their shipping prices are pretty steep.
Outside of those two, i google what im looking for and buy from the cheapest place that lists their physical address.
I also quit using 3/4oz fabric and use only 1 to 1.5oz glass now for glassing models. The extra weight gain is minimal, but its significantly easier to work with.

I watched Mac fly that B 29 and it's predecessors many times. Restoring it will be a great project and I will be watching. Alan
