Some of you know this, but I had to look it up. The classes in FAI:
F4 - Scale Models - F4B (CL Scale Aeroplanes)
F4 - Scale Models - F4C (RC Scale Aeroplanes)
F4 - Scale Models - F4H (RC Stand-off Scale Aeroplanes)

Interesting the Fi-156 has the highest flight score...however for some reason the index is not organized by class unless the 300 group is a class designation. A Storch's flight plan would have it lethargically performing a recon task. ? Would be nice to read someone's take on its flight rounds! Was it still air or windy?

I have been blessed to meet with the whole team U.S.
Such a wonderful people and fine models. I even had the honour to call for Ben Andrus with his peanut scale beautiful Agcat.
I have had a rough start on my own competition. On the first round my engine lost the other cylinder on the takeoff run and I only barely managed to get airborne and perform the figure eight. Then I had to call for a landing.
Later that night I tuned the engine as it seems too rich to flood the glow plug on taxiing.
After tuning the needles I made some long taxiing and the motor ran well but a little hot.
I decided to make a very short test flight so I would not get any problems on my second round flight.
The engine performed ok, but on my landing roll I hit a taxiway light and busted my undercarriage.
I already call the guys, I think I am going home tomorrow.
I slept over it and went in early in the morning to see what can be done. I took of the wings and turned the model upside down and started to strip off the broken parts. The damage was the left hand rear strut and the axle assembly and bend left damper upper bracket.
I went to a hardware store and got M6 threaded rod, 10mm, 8mm and 6mm all tube, pinewood strips, epoxy, tape and paint. Then started to make new axle assembly first then got the rear strut done with dremeling a groove into the pine strips and got 6mm all tube inside all epoxied together. I took me the whole day yesterday but I got her up on her feet again!
Everybody was offering help, tools and materials! I was really overwhelmed for all the support!
I got a permission from the contest director Pål, that I can make a test fight in the evening to make sure the plane is safe to flight on the second round.
Ben stayed with me late in the evening and I made a short flight and she flew!
Then I dropped Ben back their hotel and I ended up having dinner with the team U.S.A. such a honour!
Today I was told early in the morning that I will be the first pilot in the air. Wind was highest that it has been all week and the wind really pick my plane, but I managed to make a solid flight with all the manoeuvres I had on the call sheet!
Lot of crashes also on contest flights and today also at least two pilots suffered an engine lost during their flight.
Unfortunately one of them was Jack Buckley's Fairchild. He managed to make a dead stick landing on the runway without any damages.

Fiessler Storch has the highest score on page 2. Is on position 27.It flies very badly if the wind blows.

That is why I was surprised in seeing it #1. Though it was one of my favorite builds it left me less than enthusiastic with its kite behavior. It was a Svensen Belgium designed 156. Are you saying it is now 27th?

It looks like all who flew today were in F4H
H has a 1/3 static from 5 mt. (15 feet)
2/3 flying score.
It will all change when the static is added in. But not as mutch as C where the static is 50%
I watched Pier Delriew fly his Storch in Norway when the rest of us declined to fly because of the strength of the wind.
A fearless and skilled pilot ! I think it is a Sevrin with Laser 360
Jylhomi; I discovered how hard the runway lights are in 2016!
