Well Perry is done and hope you all scored some good deals! It was my first time and left with a loaded car and the wife thought I would have to buy her a plane ticket! Having lived in NY 58 years it was just too long of a drive to go to, but it was on the bucket list and moving to North Carolina put it in striking distance! I met Rob from American Eagle, and he told me that Lenny from Shinden machine landing gear will be jumping back into the game now that he is retired and will be selling through AE. Also, I heard that after many years of threatening to release the full Byron line, George Miller kits etc. Iron Bay Models is going to actually do it and is ramping up their staff head count to do so! We will see. Now we move on to JETFANS EDF line of fans. The new owner is still having some organizational issues and hopes to start getting back to production. I for sure am hooked on this show and will attend every other year (don't think I can afford every year!) and return with A) a bigger vehicle B) pants with room for a fatter wallet C) a wagon and running sneakers!

Hay Michael,  Just when you think you have everything for your hobby, then you attend a Perry style show and walk  out with more goodies you did not know you needed.
Reminds me of the Wram Show (originally in White Plains , NY).   I tried to go every year weather permitting.
Once it moved to New Jersey, it wasn't the same and did not last long.  It was a great event for many years.

Thanks for the American Eagle and Shinden business updates.

Stan

Zipman, I would go to the WRAMS every year like clockwork and drop 2k without blinking! I lived 2 towns over in Harrison NY most of my life. Yup, once it went to Jersey it and the hobby in general went into a tailspin due to online shopping and premade Chinese trash which has gotten much better. With that designers and kit manufacturers vanished. Happy to hear some are stagging come backs under new ownership.
I picked up to Align heli mechs. A 550 and 600 for $170, A Byron Christian Husky with prebuilt wings (need to be redone) and untouched rest for $175, Glass glider fuse for $35, Ziroli F6F, P-40, P-51B and P-47 Fuse and glass parts only Not a bad haul and if I had a bigger vehicle w me, I would have kept going!

I could never make it to the Perry  as it's a bit of a drive from Northern Michigan but I have made the Toledo Show a number of times and even spent the weekend at the hotel......ugh.
Thinking about going to the Toledo Swap meet this spring though.
BTW, last time I was at the Toledo show the old hotel was being deconstructed.
