Hoping to finish the Arado Ar-196, actually put filler primer on a few weeks ago, have a pilot waiting for the gunner.

I'm DYING to get started on Vances' Firefly waiting in the wings. I've ordered the remaining fibreglass parts from Vance, I'm saving my pennies for a Saito 180 and the retracts.

  Here's the full scale subject:

Chris,

Good luck on the Firefly.  I'm still enjoying the Firefly thread over in Vance's forum...its on my future "to do list" as well...  But the Anderson TA-152 is destined for the first available bench time.

I've actually got some detail pict's of your full scale subject I ordered some years ago (when I first got interested in the Firefly).  Don't know if they would help, but I'm probably not going to be using them (focusing on bashing the plans a bit to do a Mk I of either 1944 or 45 vintage), and would be glad to send them your way.  If you'd like them, send your mailing address to dkbtwo@mac.com and I'll get them headed toward you.

K

Well lets see... I'm currently working on the Meister 190D9, ImpScale MiG-3 and a TopFlight P-39 so those don't count... Also the BUSA Fokker DVII I just bought this weekend at Rheinbeck...

1.) IMPScale Bf109 (I think I'm doing the D model as there are now too many E arf's out there) 1/5th scale

2.) Roamain Research MiG-3 (1/4 scale)

3.) Ziroli Stuka

4.) Jack Devine P-51 B/C

I think that about covers all that I will be working on this winter.

I am hoping to start and finish either my Ziroli Stuka or my Ziroli P-40.  They will both depend on how fast I can get my scale exhaust done.

Depending on my job schedule and schooling, my plans are as follows.

1.  Complete the TF Sea Fury.  I've got the glassing all done, the primer is on the fuse, although I have a few areas to touch up.  I am getting all of the pieces attached, like retract valves, fuel fillers, remote glow plug connections, etc.  All servos placed and the control rods built up.  Next I will put in the cockpit kit and have a friend of mine paint it.  The wing is also complete with the retracts installed and gear doors made.  I need to prime/sand/prime/sand, etc to get it complete and then it too is ready for paint.  I am hoping for a springtime maiden.

2.  Start building a self-designed Pilatus PC21.  I have the plans all drawn and parts plopped down on laser sheets awaiting cutting.  I designed it to be a speed type plane, 1/7th scale gives a 51 in wing span.  Power is planned for a TH .75, retracts, and I am planning on just using mono/ultra kote on this; however, it is failrly accurate to scale, based on the drawings that I have.

If I get those done, I will be amazed.  I recently had the opportunity to fly an ARF CUB; what fun that was.  A co-worker is trying to get me to do a dual build with him at work of a sig 1/5th scale Cub.  We will see.

Doug

I'm taking a break from the warbirds for awhile and doing another 30's classic plane...the WACO SRE. I finally got ahold of a set of the Dario Brisighella plans and I'm planning on enlarging them from 21% to true 1/4 scale, which will give a wingspan of 104". I built a couple of SREs in smaller sizes over the years and really loved the looks of them in the air. I decided to build a big one this time.

This winter brings the finishing of my 1/4  Waco YKS and the start of another Wing MFG B17 (lost the other one at an airshow for unexplained reasons - totaled great flyer).
