Greetings from Indiana (which, it seems, is just emerging from the Ice Age! )!
My name is Ray Dosh and I fly with the Huntington County Modelers (who now fly in Wells County , just about 7 miles south of the Fort Wayne International Airport). I'm a 30+ year corporate pilot now flying a pair of Learjet 45XRs (picture John Wayne on the harness rig of the stagecoach getting the horse team under control as the cliff draws perilously near....I'm nowhere near that cool! I can only manage one of these ferocious beasts at a time! ).
After being in the RC hobby for ten years now, I'm trying to move forward with my long-time interest in scale RC (mostly civilian). My goal is to be able to draw my own plans for uncommonly modeled aircraft. I've got a long way to go. Over the years I've been in the hobby, I've built only one very simple kit. That's going to change soon. I sincerely believe that there are precious few ARFs in my future. However, I'm already practicing with my drafting program of choice (Ashlar-Vellum Graphite).
That's where I'm at right now and I look forward to interacting with all of you here in the future!

Hi Ray, Welcome to RCSB from a fellow pilot, a commercial one. I'm a 15+ year pilot for Lufthansa, flying B747-400 and B747-8. I hope you're going to do a thread on whatever you're planning to design and build. Danny

Welcome from the Buckeye State (although I am a Tex A&M fan)! I make trips to Ft. Wayne regularly, driving from Lima, I imagine that we could meet up and fly together sometime. You will find your self right at home with come civilian planes under construction already and some that have already been produced with wonderful results. Good luck and post whatever you decide to build. Ben

Welcome Ray from a fellow Hoosier now living on the Gulf Coast . You'll be amazed at the amount of knowledge and learning you can get here at RCSB. Look through several build threads and see how some of these guys solve problems. I've been in the hobby for 20+ years (though I've taken a break from it for a while to enjoy my motorcycle), but I still regularly stop in to admire the artistry that gets posted here. I never stop being amazed.
