Greetings everyone,
Hope you all had a great summer and are looking forward to the fall as we move into building season here on the northern half of the blue marble and our 'down-under" cohorts are moving into their flying season.
While having a conversation with a fellow modeler they made a statement that was very interesting and somewhat disturbing to me. They said "RCSB is a scale warbird site." Obviously this is not true! While a large number of our builds ARE warbirds, we want ALL KINDS of scale aircraft discussed and built here. If you hear someone saying this PLEASE correct them. We want our scale community to GROW and everyone to feel welcomed here. No one is limiting the type of scale aircraft being built here.
I hope if you are starting a new project this year you will consider starting a build thread. No matter what your skill level, what the subject is, you (and others) can benefit from your thread and some of the discussion and tips other may offer. It's really easy, Just go to the appropriate forum, then click the "New Topic" link in the upper right corner of the page to get started.
That's about all I have for this month. Hope you all stay safe and well.
Until next time, Mike

Mike,
I love all kinds of scale models and I know there are a lot more than warbirds being built out there so I wonder why the folks that do the most postings are the warbird builders? A great looking well crafted scale project is always fun to see no matter what it is. Scale is scale so post what you build regardless. The more off the beaten path the more interesting it can be. Thanks for welcoming everyone Mike.

I agree - Please post your build - regardless the subject. I also like the weird ones, the work horses and the downright ugly ones. They have the most colorful histories.
I just happen to building a TBM Avenger next so don't call me a hypocrite!

I really like that you updated the photos of member's completed projects on the home page. It's a big improvement to the home page.

I like that too but have you noticed that every photo with the exception of the Tiger Moth is a Warbird?

Alan,
There is more than one... The images are a group of random 10 and you don't see them all at once. You have to reload the page to get a "new" group of 10 random images but yes, the majority are warbirds as that is what folks have sent me.
If anyone would like to contribute some more civilian aircraft models for the rotator please email them to me at webmaster@rcscalebuilder.com and please only send high resolution images of FLYING aircraft (no hanger queens). :-)
Mike

I've made a script that generates a wallpaper slide show out these images; turning on the computer has become a bit more pleasant. Not sure if that's a good thing though...
Each time I log in, the image list is extended with pictures not yet in my repository. Should not be a burden to the RCSB server. Personal use only anyway. I won't be sharing the script unless Mike is OK with it being shared. Anyone with some scripting skills could make it though.
