Hello everyone. My name is Chris and I am 36 years old. I haven't flown an rc plane in over 13 years and am now finding my way back to it. Just signed up for AMA a about a week ago so I can fly with a local club. I am very much into scale and am planning to build something soon. Just not sure what yet. So many to choose from. Im mostly into warbirds. I have been reading this site for over a week now and love it. All of you have amazing talent and I have already learned so much. This site and your talents have actually inspired me to build something and start flyinf again. Thanks and look forward to talking to ya'll soon.

Hi Chris, Welcome to RCSB! You have found the best website for scale RC. If you don't know what to build yet, read some of the build-threads here. I'm sure you'll find something you'll like. Danny

Ditto Rob.
Welcome to RCSB and back to RC! If you have not built anything for a while I would suggest one of the kits from Top Flight, they are all good fliers. If you are really anxious to get a scale bird in the air then (gasp!) one of the many scale ARFs is a good way to go until you finish your build. The Skyshark kits are all good too. Probably the biggest decision to make right away is: Internal Combustion or Electric? Pros and cons on both sides.
Once again, welcome!

Thanks for welcoming me to the site. My plans for now is to purchase the top flite Cessna kit this weekend. I am going ic for sure. I know them very well and now how to maintain them as well. Now if I can just get the AMA in gear to give me my AMA number, I will be that much more at ease. I'm excited to get back into this. I have been reading for the last couple weeks and wow have things changed over the years. Again, thanks and I look forward to talking more to everyone and reading about all the awesome projects that transpire. Cheers !

Say Chris, you may have noticed modern transmitters have moved away from 72MHz, the standard nowadays is 2.4GHz. There are a lot of different systems, most incompatible with other brands, are you going to buy a new transmitter, or upgrade the one you have to 2.4GHz? Danny

Hi Chris like you I had been away from it since 1991 and got back into it last October, loving every minute, flying again, building, and this site has been amazing to follow and learn from with all the talent around the Globe. To Jeff's point if you want to fly ASAP, get an ARF ( I did but don't tell anyone ) then I finished a couple of my builds while flying again, and I am continuing on my big scale bird now. Big welcome Rick
