Hello everyone.  I've been lurking for a couple of months and wanted to introduce myself.  15 years ago, I sold every thing I had RC wise as chasing women became more important back then.  I've been out of RC till now and am making my way back to one of my old passions, RC Warbirds.

I'm 37 now, married with one 6 year old daughter.  Just now getting the time where I can get back to building again.  My how things have changed.  I've bought a Spectrum DX8 and an ARF electric (Parkzone F4U Corsair  - don't tell anyone) that I've been flying at a school near the house.  First flight was stressful but I greased the 3 landings that 1st day and brought her home in one piece.  Every flight gets easier as I'm knocking all the rust out the thumbs.

I've got a Skyshark Dauntless on the building board and have been taking pictures of the progress.  I'll be posting a build thread in the Skyshark forum as soon as my status gets updated to supporter.

I looked really hard at the Bates 1/5.5 Dauntless but chickened out and decided to go with the Skyshark for the 1st build.

Looking forward to being part of the crew here and want to thank everyone for wealth of experience and knowledge available here on the site.

Thanks,

Brian

Welcome Brian. You and I are almost neighbors. I live about 10 miles south of Hobby Airport.

Welcome to the site. I am glad you have become a part of the family. I think its a good choice to start with a simpler, less expensive build. You'll have that Skyshark Dauntless in the air pretty quick and enjoy flying it just as much as its bigger brother. Then you'll have a scale plane to fly while you start something bigger.

Please do start a detailed thread. It will be fun to watch it go together.

Hey Brian, I guess you caught one of those women you were chasing?

Welcome to RCSB, I think you will be happy with the dauntless kit.

Looking forward to your build.

Welcome Brian. Dauntless is a great flying plane, although I've not flown the Skyshark version.

Great group here, they will make you a better builder, even if you weren't trying to be. Careful, or you might catch their disease.

And if you pay much attention to Don your wallet will get remarkably thinner   He finds all the cool tools!

Be sure and make an announcement here when you start your thread on the Dauntless.
