The last time I tried to log on to this site was, I think....2007.
For some reason I never could get my user name and password to be recognized. In the meanwhile, due to burnout, I got completely out of the hobby for several years.
Recently, while cleaning out my basement......the BUG bit again....As I dusted off my half built Ziroli 72" Jug, knocked the cobwebs off my Royal Bearcat and a number of other SCALE planes....I knew I had to get back into it.
To get me started quickly, I got the ol' credit card out and ordered a Flyzone Fw-190 and Airfield F6F, both foamies.
I'm back....and this time, I got logged in.
Very pleased to see that this site is still up and thriving!

Welcome back!  Used to have one of those bearcats myself.  What did yours end up weighing?  I think I added about two pounds of lead to the firewall before mine was balanced.  I have learned a bit about  keeping the tail light since then!  John.

Hey, welcome back Greg.  It's amazing what a few years away can do!

To be honest, I'm not sure what it weighs.  It's a relatively light airframe though and fairly overpowered with an ASP .91 Redhead.  As I recall, I too had to add a very large chunk of lead to the firewall.
My big regret is that I didn't add retracts. I've considered building another wing for it as I think it'd be easier than retrofitting them.
Thanks for the welcome fellas. As I recall, I tried and tried and TRIED to get registered here back in 2003 and couldn't. Apparently I did finally get in in 2007 but that was around the time I dropped everything.

Well, Greg, depending on what your flying site is like,  you might be better off without  the retracts.  I flew mine off of sod and, because of all the nose weight, had a hell of a time landing it without damaging the retracts.  John.

Maybe one day, I'll build a retract wing, keep the fixed gear wing and swap them out as necessary. I would like to see it fly with the gear tucked up. It's a little big for hand launching...lol
