Next here are SOME of the models... Quite a few are from members here. I did not record what belongs to who but maybe someone here can answer if you have any questions.

More to come...

I know a few of them.

The Zero is by Dave Platt.  Second place designer scale.

The FW 190 Is by Roy Vailencourt.  Third place designer scale

The Beachcraft C45 is by Greg Hahn.  Second place Military Sport Scale

The D.VII with the Stag is mine.

The Tupolev "Bear" won Best in show and was just fabulous.

The 1/9 scale Hellcat with the cat's mouth is mine.  I didn't win anything but I made the larger scale stuff look bigger!

David I thought your Hellcat looked very good. At least as good as many others.  Toledo judging is difficult to understand.. at best!

Thanks for the kind words, Bob.  I hadn't really expected to win anything.  I selected the smaller Hellcat as my first scale attempt because I thought it would be a great test vehicle to try my hand at scale building with a smaller financial (& emotional) investment.  I was just there to get my feet wet in the whole experience of scale competition.  It's pretty cool to see people checking out your work & have photos posted online.  I had a blast.

I emailed the Toledo expo and asked if it was possible to obtain a copy of the judges notes and particularily those items that were downgraded.  I haven't received any response so far.

Hard to do a better job if you don't know what thre judges didn't like.

Any comments?

If you receive a response I'd like to see it for the same reasons.
