Today was a very sad day. Jim has been my friend and R/C buddy
since he taught me to fly 40 years ago when I was 10. He passed away at
age 83 this past Wednesday and his funeral was today. Over his lifetime he taught
many, many people to fly in the Cherokee County area of Georgia. He was THE grass
Cutting guy for many years and was at the field every pretty day most of his life. This
hobby just will not be the same without being able to go visit my pal. Rest in peace Jim
you are going to be fondly missed.
Here is Jim in a picture taken about five years ago when he came out to
fly with me right before I moved to the Carolina's.

Forest,
Sorry for your loss, at least you had the chance to spend time together and enjoy each others company. Just think, if it wer'nt for this great hobby you and Jim would never have got to be good friends. I lost a full scale flying buddy last year and it leaves an empty spot that can never be filled. As my friend used to say "Getting old is not for wimps!".
