In January 2014, JR will no long be exclusively distributed by Horizon Hobbies. Spektrum will be the house radio at Horizon. The new JR Tx will enjoy modulation that is NOT compatible with the current line of JR and Specktrum 2.4 GHz receivers.
I have been a JR guy since the early 80's with my JR Apollo radio and Circus-Circus distributors. I have been loyal to the brand and I always thought the Spektrum was like the cheap version of JR not so, they are independent and developed here in the US.
When I need a replacement for my JR 12X I will buy a Specktrum TX in the meantime I will enjoy my JR radios.
I got this from the number one Japanese guy at the JR America booth at Toledo last spring. The booth was conspicuously located as far from the Horizon booth as possible.

Cant say im surprised, but i saw it coming when JR announced Dmss. Ill stick with JR for my expensive models and keep a spektrum dsm2/x transmitter for the bind n fly stuff. I havent been very impressed with the spektrum line of transmitters, including the dx18.
Any idea who will be doing the repair and service work on JR? Guess I better get my 9303 in for it's upgrade pretty quick.
