David,
I'm glad that you shared some of the issues that you have had with Fusion with the drawing and cut files as I haven't used drawings too much. I designed my AR-240 (https://www.rcscalebuilder.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=27 166) in SolidWorks and then created an assembly/sheet layout of parts and exported a parasolid file into Fusion 360 CAM for machining which worked well.
The software is evolving and I might try my next design in Fusion.
Cheers,
Kevin

This is a problem with any CAD program - Solidworks, Fusion, Inventor. They can all make a drawing of a part, which can be exported as a DXF. That one DXF can then be cut on the laser or router or CNC mill. But that is the limits. You still need a program to manipulate and nest all of the part DXF together as a cut file for laser or router - otherwise you have to cut one part at a time, which is not efficient use of time, material and machine work envelope. This is best done with a 2D program; Draftsite or AutoCAD LT for example. It is easy to then nest all your DXF together for an efficient cut file (many DXF together) for your work envelope of your machine. Excellent work to persevere with 360 though! Very cool model - it will be awesome on floats. Bob

Solidworks, Fusion, Inventor BLAH BLAH BLAH
Great work! Sadly its only a mater of time before the Chinese reverse engineer the dang thing.
I have a Saito radial that would sound sweet in the plane.
Keep at it.

This is an exciting day. Today we start accepting pre-orders for the Beaver kit! Check out the funding campaign on fundable.com:
https://www.fundable.com/moustache-model-works-llc
There are two bonuses for pre-ordering. First, shipping is free! Second, each kit will come with a DHC-2 Beaver ceramic mug from Labusch Skywear. I have 3 of their mugs and they're great.
This pre-order campaign is to raise funds needed for placing the first order. The faster we raise these funds, the faster we can get this puppy on the market. US orders only at this time. Once we've met the goal for this campaign, pre-orders will close for a while, until I can get my website established. We will open up pre-orders again once the shipping date gets closer, but the free shipping and mug incentives will not be available then.

Awesome, Ray! Thank you!
It’s not showing up on my end yet, unless your name is Schmidt? Are you sure the transaction went through?
