I looked up the link & took up Googling a whole bunch of sites. What I’ve found is the Nieuport -23 is essentially a Nieuport 17 but with the Vickers machine gun mounted just off to the right side from center of the front fuselage as opposed to the -17 which is supposed to have it mounted on the centerline. The -23 was supposed to deal with structural weakness on both the -11 & -17, but the top wing kept peeling away in a dive anyway. Then it’s supposedly powered by a Gnome -9 version rotary engine. Other than that, externally they’re essentially identical.
