Hi All,
Well, it's "check wings day".
I dragged the wings from under the house. They were in wing bags, thank goodness as the dust was something else.
They were given a quick dust down, nontheless and taken into the shop. well, there was no way I could put both wings on ...
The root rib end where you can make out the steel tube holes in the rib which take the moly tubes sticking out of the cabin. She's a thin sectioned wing an can fly like a rocket when she has to. The slats were workable but are now screwed down shut. They were of little help in STOL activities. The flaps did just fine on their own.
The right wing was slid on to its poles and the electrics coupled up ... flaps and aileron.
The massive wing struts were bolted on, and Tx and RX were switched on. Flaps and aileron worked well.
Sorry that the pics are crummy, but they do give you an idea of how big she is.
The wing was removed, the table wheeled over the room and the left wing and strut was bolted on. Again all worked well.
As I will not be able to fly her for a couple of months with this self isolation thing that we all must and should do, I will put her back in storage and get on with the Ki-45 project.
The "show your stuff" postings will all be removed by the administrators within 60 days, I think it is.
Thanks for coming along for the ride, and thanks for all of you that offered opinions; always good to hear be they positive or negative.
Be kind, and take care.
Cheers
Ken
