Years ago, when I was stationed at Lowery AFB, CO, I made skis similar to yours. Only real difference, I cut a 4x4 with the tip curl in it. Would then boil the ski tip in water for 10 minutes and clamp it in the 4x4 overnite. They worked awesome. Flying sessions were usually just the pattern and about thirty touch-and-goes per flight. In a couple weeks time, all the regulars had them made as well. It was great fun! I'm in Arizona now, so it's float flying a couple times per year.

That's sounds like a great idea! Yes endless touch n goes are my favorite!
