My Name is Jake and I am the proud owner of a laser cut model of the SPAD XIII.   I won this model at the recent Woodland-Davis WWI and Vintage fly in.  I did not realize just how big 1/3 scale is.  I am starting the build with the stabilizer and elevator.  I am using Titebond glue for now.  I will be posting questions as the model progresses.  Thank you Woodland-Davis club.

Welcome! Become a full member and post pics as you go. SPAD is a great WWI airplane.

Welcome aboard Jake.

Yes a 1/3 scale WW1 aircraft can be rather large.

As Tony said, become a full paid member. You won't regret it. There is so much to learn here plus all of the other bonuses you get from being a member.

Who was the SPAD plans done by? If you become a member we can move this thread to the appropriate forum section and you can continue posting your build to show us all and also ask any questions.

We look forward to the build thread! Titebond is suitable for most building but there are places the other glue types are necessary. I try to avoid CA as the joints don't handle shock loads very well but it has it's place.
