As we start another run around the sun, some new things are coming up in 2024 for RCSB Subscribers! Look for to more contest, drawings, and a new benefit this coming year. Our community here on RCSB is THE source for R/C Scale building around the world.

I didn't get a lot of building done in 2023 due to lots of other obligations (this site being one of those), but this year I want to finish up a few things and start a new project.

What are your modeling goals this year? Have you though about that any? Maybe taking on the task of mentoring someone at your local club who is interested in scale modeling. Or, maybe you want to do something new with your club to promote our hobby to the general public such as having a scale fly-in or contest?

I would love to hear from you guys in this thread as to what your hobby goals are in 2024. So do a quick post and let me know. Let's all make them happen!

We have a great supportive community here that is like no other on the internet. I hope you enjoy the site as much as myself and all the great moderators and admins enjoy bringing it to you. May 2024 be your best hobby year yet!

Happy New Year to All!

Goals?  Good one Mike.  As some may recall my health has not been the best for some 11 years now.  Cancer followed by complications from the treatments followed by some infections, surgeries and so on.  Hopefully that's all behind me now so my goals now are:

Re-organize/clean my work shop.
See if the Harley can be used enough to keep.  That depends on me and not the bike.
Finish a Flintlock rifle I've been building.
Get full swing back into RC.

Seems easy enough!

Happy new Year everyone! There may be a tremendous possibility for me to join our National Team as a baggage boy (also, team supporters are welcomed by the organizer) as the next Scale World Championships will be held in Romania. https://drive.google.com/file/d/15-YqOwMwUubAbEo0JVkZG_cXxB8 OErvt/view

My plans to have a free RC flying school for kids is closer than ever. We have a registered flying field for RC planes, half-a dozen high wing trainers, too many old stunts and some ARF WW2 fighters.

RCSCALEBUILDER pages are awesome, therapeutical. You just click the page open and start immediately dreaming, your mind flows away to the early morning maiden sky. Reading the building stories you cal almost sense the smell of balsa and plywood, look down, if there is sawdust on your lap...? Ok, serious, about the plans for this year. Say, SIG Cub converted to a 3P version, with Lenape-Papoose (Saito R3) radial would be within my limits this year - as my goal is still in flying-only type beginners class. It is always good to support the contest organizers by taking part flying yourself or simply helping the judges with the score sheets.

Happy New Year, everyone! Good fortune and good health to all of you.

My own modeling goals are pretty simple, restart the 1/4 Dr-1 I started 2 years ago and got as far as ready to cover. My building tends to get interrupted/suspended by flying. Ever since I got addicted to flying giant 3D aerobats it's been tough to find kit building time. Not a bad problem to have, really :)
