Sparky. Yes, I changed the markings to reflect the A4 my good friend Dave Dollarhide flew while aboard the USS Forrestal when it caught fire on July 29, 1967. Dave was parked next to John McCain awaiting launch when the fire broke out. Dave was injured but managed to get unbuckled and away from his A4. At that time, Dave was flying in the VA-46 "Clansmen". 

I have yet to fly the Scooter but I am looking forward to it. Thanks for asking.


Please tell Dave "Thanks for serving" from a fellow Navy Flyboy.

The Navy made a training film of that incident called "Trial by Fire".. We all had to watch it.. Pilots & NFOs alike.

Horrific incident. Glad he survived.
