Sparky. Yes, I changed the markings to reflect the A4 my good friend Dave Dollarhide flew while aboard the USS Forrestal when it caught fire on July 29, 1967. Dave was parked next to John McCain awaiting launch when the fire broke out. Dave was injured but managed to get unbuckled and away from his A4. At that time, Dave was flying in the VA-46 "Clansmen". 

I have yet to fly the Scooter but I am looking forward to it. Thanks for asking.

The Navy made a training film of that incident called "Trial by Fire".. We all had to watch it.. Pilots & NFOs alike.

Horrific incident. Glad he survived.

I will do that. I talk to him occasionally as he's been having some health issues so try to no bother him too much. Yes, it is still considered to this day the worst US Naval peacetime disaster in history. Very sad day! Thanks for your reply.
