I just received notice, as a vendor, that the Toledo Expo is gone forever. Reason given is that hobby demographics and shopping methods (internet and mail order) are causing too many vendors to close. The club does not feel they can continue to put on a quality event.I exhibited at the show for 20 years. Rest in peace.

Wow Dave... We must have a psychic connection! I was just looking at their announcement.
Hate to see it go.

terribly sad for you guys. Don't think we have ever had shows lie that here, far too small a market.

Toledo Expo meant the beginning of my year and Spring. It was also the venue for us to greet and meet friends in the hobby.
Rick and Jim, along with their staff, always did an outstanding job. Real gentlemen in the hobby. I also hate to see it go. It was the last, and biggest, show for our hobby.

WOW! Like GrummanD I always looked at this show as the beginning to the flying season. A chance to meet old friends, pick up those last few items to put the finishing touches on the past winters builds and possibly pick up new projects in the swap shop. While the vendors in attendance always changed, I never felt this was not a "quality" show to attend. Wondering if this closure is partly because the Weak Signals staff are getting older and the younger generation aren't stepping up to take the reins. Whatever the cause this hurts. The beginning of April will never be the same.

Guys from my club would go up in a motor home and camp in the parking lot of the hockey rink, the river always got up into the lot and the guys would have to move in the middle of the night.
My first trip was one of the last years at the hockey rink, it was everything the guys said it would be. When it moved to seagate center it was even better. Christmas, New Year, my birthday and 4th of July all rolled into one.
Saw a lot of cool airplanes
Met some great people
Going to be hard to fill that hole in the schedule. In more ways than one.

Sad that the hobby and the Toledo show have diminished in the way they have. I worked the show for Sierrra several years and exhibited my planes there a few times.Always looked forward to the show. Attended for over 20 years straight...My first show was at the hockey rink sleeping in a motor home. That was Awesome! A Dream come true for me.. it was in 1980 i think.. gosh time flies!
