Here are a few photos of my "small" Bates Sea Fury. It is done in the colors of the Royal Netherlands Navy Demonstration Team circa 1953. Engine is RCGF 50cc twin, Klass Kote paint, Sierra retracts. 27# Set up for my Hitec Aurora 9 which has been returned to the service center; so no possibility for the maiden yet. I had two crashes due to radio glitches earlier this summer (I blamed the first one on the receiver). After the transmitter is checked over I'll be flying it on a couple "more expendable" models until my confidence is returned.

Beautiful Chuck! I'm aiming to start my "small" Bates Sea Fury in mid-November. I have all the parts except the engine. Please post how yours does on the 50cc twin.
Is the 5-blade prop a flying prop?
Is there a build thread for it?
Good luck with the maiden!
Greg

Greg, the 5-bladed prop is display only. I did not do a build thread on this. But if you have any questions or run into a snag, please contact me. I made a couple changes from the plans. The oil cooler should extend below the bottom of the wing. The Sea Fury had sliding "cooling gills" behind the exhaust panels. I built the model as if they were fully open to get more engine cooling air outlet area.
My transmitter arrived in the mail today. They did not find any problems with it. I plan to give it a workout tomorrow with two "low emotional debt factor" models.

I went through the unreliable TX this summer.
It shakes your confidence to the bone, I was totally unable to fly to the limits of the plane because of it.
The solution was the Importer replacing the TX for a very reasonable fee! They couldn't find anything wrong with the one I turned in.
