Very nice model! That field looks familiar. Isn't it the Cincy Aeromodelers field?

Jim,
Thanks for the comment. The field is Greater Cincinnati R/C Club just south of Trenton, Ohio. I think you have flown in our Dawn Patrol event.

Hi Chuck
Just wondering if you were able to test fly your Sea Fury. I understand about not having confidence in your radio. I also had as it turns out a bad rx because of a bad plug on an elevator servo. Tx tested out fine after sending it in. Last year flew only foamy’s with no problems. So this year, going to use it in a warbird. I have started the Bates ¼.5 Sea Fury awhile back and hope to start back on it soon. Although it’s the start of flying season, so not much building going on. A few years back I had picked a paint scheme out, and as you know warbirds can be harder to see in the air on purpose, so I chose to do the exact scheme you chose. I had bought a book a number of years ago about Sea Furies from the Netherlands and thought the bright color on the cowl and spinner would make it easier to see. Glad to see yours, and what a beautiful job you have done. Good luck flying your model and I hope you enjoy it for many years.
Chris

Chris, Thank you for the compliments. I got one flight on the Sea Fury last year. The transmitter has been flawless since it's return from the shop. Not my best performance, but the plane suffered no damage. Seemed to be rather nose heavy so I took some weight out of the nose. The weather has not cooperated for additional flights so far this spring. The orange paint really helped the visibility; there were times when it seemed only the nose and roundels were visible when making turns. Chuck

Congratulations on your maiden. They always get better with more flights. Glad to here that the scheme was easier to see, and that your radio is working great. In Minnesota we are just starting our season also. Haven’t had to many days that were warmer and the wind not at gail force. Do you ever go to any of the warbird events. We always go to Fond du Lac and maybe Windy City Warbirds in Chicago. Was hoping to maybe be able to see your plane in person. We are part of the Warbird and Classic Alliance.

Chris, I am not normally inclined to attend fly ins; bad experience a long time ago. I may try this year just for the sake of having something to do. I compete occasionally and intend to do so with the Sea Fury. If I get a few more successful flights in I will be attending the Nats in June. Chuck

Sorry about your bad experience. I hope you get many good flights and the the best of luck at the Nats. Maybe I’ll see you plane in the magazines.
I look forward to starting on mine again.
