Well she was a handful for me. But the flight went well. A bit too nose heavy I think. I added about 2lbs up front to get it where the manual wants it. On my second approach attempt I stalled turning downwind to base and she did one nice spin. I pitched forward and recovered. I thought it was a goner. I just need to get a feel for appropriate speeds as this is the heaviest/fastest model I've ever flown. It also needs a lot more aileron throw.
Anyway I took the ARF and stripped it. I fiberglassed and painted it with Rustolium 2X paint. Callie Graphics for the vinyl. I used Minwax satin polyurethane for a clear colts. Panel lines were done with masking tape and acrylic airbrush primer.
The cockpit kit was from Dynamic Balsa. I tried my hand at a sliding canopy. The fuse was a bit narrow for me to try for it to be servo actuated. I will attempt that on my next build the TF F4U Corsair.
It's powered by a DLE55RA. I used a FRSky redundancy bus, two A123 batteries, two receivers and a TechAero IBEC on the ignition.
I'm looking forward to learning how to fly this thing better and really getting it dialed in.
Happy summer flying!!

Well done Matt. Sounds as though you had a lucky escape there but you live to fly another day.

Thank you all! She sat for over a year finished because I was too scared to fly it. I got some stick time in on Real Flight but man it's just not the same, lol

Nice job Matt, I always like to see what people do with ARFs. They are a blank canvas to add detail and make more accurate. Sounds like you got lucky, but it survived to fly another day, so a successful flight/maiden.

Thanks! Yes I was lucky to be at altitude. I did have the ware with all to dump the nose down to recover, even if it meant hitting the dirt. I though trying to power out and pull up would of only made worse. Good to be a few mistakes high when learning a new aircraft.
