Barry Raborn's "monster" F-104 Starfighter entertained this afternoon. It is "The Look Of The Real Thing".

Amazing job. The pictures really makes the F-104 incredibly realistic.
Cheers,

We have our typical 150 pilots with around 200 planes. Excellent weather after Nicolas' glancing "blow". We are blessed with low humidity...just as, if not more important than temperature here along the Gulf coast. We hosted the Southwest Jet Rally last weekend with excellent pilot head count. The Southweat Jet Rally enjoyed 50 pilots with 60 plus turbines.
I look forward to today's third session with a typical spectator count of 1500 to 2000. This is our largest event which pays the annual maintenance and taxes. We are fortunate to enjoy 11 months of Texas breeze (NW/SE 10~12 mph). July is the only "challenging" month. With everyone tired of hunkering down at home amidst Covid we should see a record turnout.
Over the last 33 yrs of this event we've developed hundreds of friendships from all over the world. I'll never forget hearing the strong accents of Austrailians, Germans, Brits, Scandinavians and our neighbors from Nuevo Laredo, Matemorus, Mexico City, and McAllen.

One of the finest flying facilities in the country. It was always interesting to go fly on a Saturday afternoon and find you had the place all to yourself. The pond at the top of the photo has hosted many great fun float flys and meetings of the battleship guys who would do battle sinking one another! 100 X 600 about 3.5 feet deep.
