Instead of walkaround images this month, member John Ellis (exbirdy) has kindly donated a treasure trove of documentation on the GAF Nomad (N22 and N24). I browsed thought these and was truly amazed at the quality and quantity of drawings and information. This aircraft is used worldwide and a true workhorse. This documentation is a great companion to last May's Nomad walkaround. It makes a great subject to model!

This is an excellent subject to add to your walk-around collection.

Wow! That brings back some memories...not many good.
I worked for Hughes Aviation in the 80's, the US distributor for this airplane.
It was a failure for the company as far as I could tell. We leased most of them and when they came back (if they came back at all, some were abandoned in remote areas and not worth recovering) they required extensive work to bring back to airworthy condition. Not very robust, although some of the users did abuse them. I remember one that came back had holes in the fuselage from horns. They'd been carrying livestock in it. Man, did it smell!

and the tails had a habit of falling off, our Army aviation ditched them after a couple of bad accidents.
