Thanks Sparky, yes I might get some nice pictures with an FPV glider! Something to think about when the house is finished.
Hi Matz, I think you are mistaken - I didn't do the model car photos - but I agree the chap to did them is very clever - they look really nice! It is nice when a photo comes out and you can't see the scale of the model. I aspire to make models and take pictures like that - but with aeroplanes!

Ah yes the Channel picture is my model, in that case thank you very much! I thought you meant the car pictures in the link - he is clever! My girlfriend took that picture with a basic point and shoot camera.

Hi Avipatable, I've just completed and maidened my own Sig Miniplane. It flies great but it does balloon! I tried to add a little bit of negative incidence on the stabiliser but it obviously wasn't enough, so I'll try what you did with the shims under the rear of the top wing. Still, it flies great. 3 flights in so far and hopefully a lot more to come!

Did you add 1/8" to the LE of the stab or something less?
I know it sounded crazy but I tried to help remove the drama on flight 1.
Glad it went well.

Only about 1/16. Wasn’t enough! Can’t adjust the stab now so will have to try some wing adjustment.
Still, it’s better to be going up on a maiden...

Hi WRA,
That's a nice finish you have on your Miniplane, and congrats on a successful maiden.
It sounds like we might meet in the middle with regards to the incidence. I put 1/8" under the stab, as per Sparky's recommendation, and under the rear wing bolts of the top wing I put a square of what I think was 1/16th balsa - with a hole in the middle for the bolt. The struts were soldered to suit. But I think it is a fraction too much - at full throttle on take off the model would quite happily keep ripping along the sand rather than lift off gently on its own accord.
Let me know how you go!
Sam

I told you 1/8" no body believes me...
It really needs it. This was my first scale airplane many years ago that had the decaladge way off. I'm sure there were some maidens taken to tears because SIG stuck their head in the ground and didn't fix the issue. SIG knew all along there was a problem.
