Ah, my favorite Marutaka kit! When they were manufactured they were available in four sizes,
Senior being the largest with a .049 powered smallest.

When Denver based Royal imported Marutaka they offered a glass P-51 and Zero fuselage with
built up wood parts. They were excellent flying models. Sadly, the founder's children were not
interested in continuing the Marutaka kits. They are now found online from inventories of old
kits.

This is the perfect place to post the muffler pictures.  This is your build thread and any picture of the build would be appropriate to be here in the thread.

The thing I remember about this line of kits is you received a set a plans and a box of balsa blocks.  The plans said sand the balsa blocks to look like the plans.  You Sir, did a wonder job of doing just that!  This is the best looking example of one of these kits I have ever seen.

Thanks a lot. Marutaka kits need a lot of work indeed.
This build started almost 20 years ago. I stopped it many times. As those days in Greece digital cameras etc was something unknown or very expensive, I can not post photos. So the very first one comes from 2010.Fuselage and wing were ready and glassed....Nose was modified, in order to fit a 4T engine, instead 55 2T.

Then first layer of primer and sand with wet sand paper.
Before the second layer, I used 1mm masking tape, for paneling. At the end some sanding altering sand paper and soft cloth.

A modified soldering iron was used for rivets. This part took days, as first I had to mark the rivets on fuselage and wing and then start to burn the primer layer.
When I finished, the entire surface was smoothed using soft cotton cloth.

Everyone I know of building the "Zeke" took considerable time to complete it. Your fuselage
planking, sheeting, carving gun cover and tail cone looks perfect. This was one of Marutaka's
1st RC models. In all models of that era these were typically balsa blocks needing carving.



Long ago, I built a captured "Zeke" used for Red Flag against F-4F, F4U, P-38, P-39 and P-40
resulting in major weight reduction and engine upgrades to achieve superiority over an A6M2.
It 
bore the Star with no bar and J army green over dove.

You have done an excellent job!
