OK all you Dark Side fans, the Flying Heritage Collection is planning their Luftwaffe Day on Aug 24. I've been to this before, but I'd love to do it again. The FHC is at Payne Field near Seattle, WA (Everett actually).
They have a flyable FW-190A-5, Bf 109E-3, Fi-156. Non-flying FW-190D-13, Me-163. Also a Ju-87R-4 in restoration.
When I was there some years ago, only the Storch flew. The FW-190A taxied out, did engine run-up and then taxied back. He saw something he didn't like I guess. Just seeing these birds run their engines is worth the price of admission.
There are also many other cool aviation things to see in the area. The Boeing factory tour is a must if you haven't done it. There are also several other air museums in the area, including The Museum of Flight and others. The Museum of Flight has a restoration center at Payne Field that is open to the public.
The FHC Luftwaffe Day is not on their calendar yet, but I've received emails about it and they just confirmed that it is on for Aug 24.
What do you say?
