Just out of curiosity, has a WWI biplane ever won TopGun?

Yes. Glenn Torrance's 33% D.VII won Team Scale in 2011:

Wahoo!!!   Go, go, WWI builders!   Actually, I had an inkling that if a WWI model had won, it would have been either a Fokker DVII or an Albatros DV.  And it doesn't surprise me at all the the builder was "Mr. Fokker" Tom Kosewski! (Isn't he the guy that was building a museum quality reproduction of the DVIII in half-scale?)

I think Glen was the builder.  It was one of his kits.

Great photos. Is that Matt's P-51? Miss Ethyl? Lane

Hi Lane

Yeah was a great time once again.  It's always like a dream world being there!  Just happy to see everyone again and enjoy the RC bliss for a week.

Not sure of the spelling of names!

Tod Bixby  albatross

Dauntless!

Mirces jet!

TG winner Peter Goldsmith about to take off

Wayne from Colorado!

Arturo's tony

Jamie Fiffles corsair and Ali/Dustin german fighter jet

Woman build too!   This gal Jordan built and finished this amazing model, while her husband flew it.

Miss Ethel was put through her paces and came back in one piece.   Conditions were not the best with some heavy wind gusts and lots of rain and puddles in grass runway on a few days, and making for mucky grass most of the week....wish I had a paved runway to practice on more too...very squirrelly beast!  Did not getting any practice flights in this year either way because New England weather has been so bad....but was fun fun fun , with some decent weather and minimal wind too!

Miss Ethel in pits (with another passed out TG pilot catching a few winks)

Hopefully will have my new stang of Chad Viech plans there in the coming years!

You're right.  I was using "builder" with the intent of saying that Tom is a real Builder's Builder.
