Hi gentlemen and ladies
After a false start youR gracious moderator got me signed up. Being a long time builder I hope I caDD and help some of you. Discussions are usually a good place to solve problems.. this was a typical Friday morning event throughout my engineering career. Some actually got out of hand and turned into shouting events. Putting a period at the end of chalk board scribbling often resulted in shattered chalk for the final emphasis Lol. In later years the more modern felt marker it resulted in the felt tip being pushed into the marker.eloquent words will have to be the limit here.LOL
RC scale warbirds are my favorite. I built and flew a Ziroli Corsair for 13 years in the Midwest. My two younger boys ,one is a member here would load the plane and our gear in the Buick wagon and go somewhere to fly it. We always had a good time. I I learned a lot about these planes over the years. Also built a Z P51 and helped my older son build a Z B25. RIP.
SOMETHING NOTABLE WAS THE INTRODUCTION OF A GYRO ON THE Corsair. It was unheard of in the day. Then the first of the auto pilots. More on thes on request.some of you may remember a thread called “Corsair Blues on another forum. I was one of the early followers and contributors in that one. So I have been around a while.hopefully I can contribute something useful here.

Hey Dad it’s me. I added you to my buddy list, so you should be able to find my posts when I start this thing. I’m probably going to order the plans tomorrow.

I'll second Sparky's comment. Welcome to the forum, both of you!

Thanks to the both of you. I’m about to buy the Jerry Bates plans for his 120” SB2C. I plan to do a build thread, as I haven’t seen one on here for that size. Could be I haven’t found it yet, but I have been looking. Mr. Bates has graciously exchanged messages with already and Bentwings thinks it’s a good idea...

Welcome both of you.
NOW ... Save yourselves a lot of bother and go here and study how to resize, orientate and post pictures and text. Scroll down to "Posting".
Take note of item number "8" as well.

Gnord & Bentwings,
I third (behind Sparky & Jeff) welcomes you both to the site. Gnord: I don’t know if your intentions are to super-detail the Curtiss Helldiver, but if you are, I’ve got (literally) over a hundred detailed close up photos of the plane including extensive coverage of both front & rear cockpits. They’re of the -5 version.
I also agree with Kuhn, please join.

Thanks for the advice, and welcomes everyone. Could only do the yearly membership at this time. I checked out how to upload photos as well. Skyediamonds: I’m definitely interested in modeling all of the minutiae, I’m just not sure if it will be a -3,-4 like the plans call for, or a -5. Before I pull the trigger on it I’m trying to figure out the retract situation. That could be the deciding factor. When I get started I’d love to see those pics so I will be in touch. Thanks!
